The people behind Payla

Cowboi — Saskatchewan, Canada

Cowboi grew out of a simple frustration: small businesses were stuck paying enterprise prices for software that still didn't quite fit. Payla started as the answer — a payments and point-of-sale system built for the corner shop, the market stall, and the service operator, not the Fortune 500.

Where we come from

The team behind Cowboi comes from the Canadian investment fund industry — decades spent building, managing, and administering the record-keeping and accounting systems that move real money for real people. RESPs and group scholarship plans, mutual funds, dealer administration: the unglamorous plumbing that has to be right, every single time.

That background shapes everything we make. We're comfortable with the parts of software that most people avoid: reconciliation, audit trails, compliance, the edge cases that only show up at month-end. When money and records are involved, "mostly works" isn't good enough — and that discipline carries into every product on this page.

How we work

We don't hand you a demo and disappear. We build the system, we run the servers, we watch the deployments, and we pick up the phone when something needs fixing. Design, development, hosting, and support live under one roof — ours.

That means fewer vendors to coordinate, one team that understands the whole stack, and software that keeps working long after launch day. We build software, then we run it.

What we build

Payla is the flagship, but it's not the only thing we operate. Golf tournament platforms, financial planning tools, real-estate client portals, jobs marketplaces, camp and trip planners — see the full portfolio. Every one is live in production with real users.
